The club have just confirmed the Tiaki Chan signing for Catalans, wonder if there is anymore coming?

I’m assuming he isn’t on quota? If he is it’s an odd one. If not decent project signing.

Federation trained I assume if he's come through the French system. Remember him being very aggressive and enthusiastic playing against us but not seen enough to judge.

He has played for France so presuming not.

Liked the looks of both the Chan brothers when I’ve seen them. I wouldn’t mind getting the other one at some point down the track as well, if he doesn’t start getting first team games at Melbourne.

One thing is you can be assured of he brings some high intensity aggressive play.

Very much in the Isa mould in regards his attitude/approach to the game.

I appreciate he is a prop but I also wouldn’t be surprised to see him be transitioned into a secondrow.

I think so. He’s one to keep an eye on over the next couple of years. He’s quite a bit bigger than Tiaki, so that helps. I actually thought Tiaki was the younger brother, but I think the size difference tricked me, as he’s 2 years older according to google.

Hopefully, his brother will be coming next season as well.

Can't say this one fills me with hope, haven't seen him play much, but his stats aren't great and another lightweight mobile forward... is that what we need? We need big men!

Yea I’ve not seen much of him. Hopefully they can stick some size on him over the pre season. We haven’t had the best luck in signing big men so hopefully this might work out. Does Anyone have any idea on him? Wiki says he’s played 8 games for Catalan in 2 years. They do have some big men though Catalan. Here’s hoping for a gem. I’m sure someone said he is a little in the Isa mould so hopefully learning from Isa he’ll be able to punch above his weight.

Statistically he actually looks pretty good in terms of his average gains per carry. It sits at 7.61m a carry currently, which is better than any of our props including Cooper (who is our best in terms of metres per carry). He hasn’t played every week at Catalans and his minutes look limited but there is something there to work with. His size clearly isn’t holding him back in terms of being able to make ground when he’s on the field.

The main thing that has stuck out when I’ve seen him is his aggression. He went after Bateman last season at our place IIRC, so he’s no shrinking violet. There has been talk that youngsters/fringe players coming through at Catalans are paid extremely poorly, so I think it could be a really good move this one.
