Great result tonight, played in winter conditions. Catalans tried to drag us into a down the middle game, which, to an extent, they did. And herein, lies the problem.

Tonight, we got away with it. But, play that game against Saints or Leeds, and we are toast. And here comes the 2nd problem. Play that game without 2 recognised half backs, and we will be played off the field.

Kevin Singield is sat here now, rubbing his hands. All Leeds will do is sit back and take the down the middle attitude. All Singield will do, is kick us around the pitch.

Tonight's win is the worst result we could have had. Without Ratchford working overtime and out of position, we did not deserve that.

Saints or Leeds will win the GF.

But we had to play as well as we could tonight otherwise it would have influenced the play offs below us if we had not tried.

No we never. We could have won easily, or been hammered without trying. Both of which would have suited us.

Tonight's game has literally killed us.

Funny really i thought it was just what we needed. A tough game miles from home in poor conditions. A game where we had to dig deep and forget about the free flowing rugby that wont win your the GF. Leeds will be watching thinking s**t they have can now do it tought!!

We were in a no win situation, play hard to win or get slated for influencing the final play off positions below us for not trying.

I believe the game plan against St Helens and with this tough one will see us in the right frame of mind to go on to Old Trafford.

I haven't seen the game, but by all accounts it was atrocious conditions and we found a way to grind out a win, as far away from home as we can go in Super League, against a tough side. That's not bad.

Personally, I would have done what Huddersfield did and changed the entire team from last week, with the only regular first team players even travelling being Hodgson and Atkins for fitness reasons. Tony Smith knows a lot more than I do though and he went the other way. So be it. Three weeks ago we had a disastrous night against Widnes, followed by a week off to stew on it as well as rest the players. Since then we've got our form back and go into the play offs on the back of two away wins which didn't look easy on paper. That'll do for now.

never heard so much bollox spouted on here in a long time(and ive heard a few)..how can a win be such a bad thing...and a win in bad conditions...leeds and there pack is miles inferior to ours..and as quoted by yourself somewhere on here we know what it takes now to win this knockout avin lost last year....bitter man...better luck next week backing leeds
