Not sure if its been posted or not but just read on the Wigan website that Norman Cherrington has died. Condolences to his family and friends. RIP Norman.

One of the fastest forwards I have ever seen, and will always be remembered by older Wiganers for that tackle on Ike Southward of Workington Town at Wembley in 1958.

I remember Cherrington as a rather quick forward. Sad news.

he lived just round the corner from us,we saw him a few weeks ago,didn't look well.norman was a workhorse in that wigan pack,used to stand in the hen pen inthose days great wigan side.rip

Although far far before my time, my Grandma had nothing but great things to say about the man.
