turley was a tackler

chris johnson was a great player but turley was a better and i make no excuse for that because its late and im drunk

Must admit, as an opposition fan, I always saw Turley as a threat when attacking but a turnstile when defending.

Obviously didn't see as much of him as you lot, so that may not be entirely fair.

don't remember him being that bad a tackler..we have had worse...but like Kevin keegan could have said..he might let 3 past him but scores 4! Have to say he is probably the player I most liked to watch since I started watching Leigh in earnest in the early 1990's...

A player opposition defences feared, creating space for others. Great under the high ball, great hands, great vision, step and pace. If only he could have avoided those injuries who knows how good he would have been. A player that lit the terraces.
