| Ive only just seen last weeks grandfinal because right now I'm not living in britain.I noticed after the Wire players went up and collected their medals, they stayed on the pitch for the speech even though they must have been hurting and wanted to get off.I thought staying on the field was class and a great attitude.Good bunch of blokes good on em

| Yes they did and clapped Leeds pretty enthusiastically, they handled it better than I did, that's for sure.

| Its a shame the Wire fans couldn't stay around. Our end was mostly empty while Leeds were being presented with their trophy. If the players who were hurting after being beaten on the field had the respect to stay and acknowledge Leeds as the champions then why did our fans feel the need to leave in a strop. It's basically saying "we didn't get what we want so we don't want to see the champions be crowned".
After a tough season when a team has put its bodies on the line all season and fought its way through to be champions, is it too much to ask the wider RL community, fans of the "greatest game" to stay a few minutes and give them the reception they deserve, before going home. I had a tram to catch too but waited to stand up and clap Sinfield and the Leeds players while they got their medals.

| I also seem to remember us clapping the Leeds players at Wembley after a lot of their supporters had sloped off before the presentation .

A mark of coaching genius, stay on the pitch, feel the pain and use it next year as a motivational strategy.

Always planning that TS for you.

| You are right, most Leeds fans and neutrals went off straight after the Challenge Cup as well rather than wait and see the presentation. Sadly its just an attitude nowadays, we don't have respect for the winners unless they are our own team.

Wow, yeah, like that's never been done before. Maybe that was what saints needed during their 5 grand final losing streak.

Did you see the queue for the Metro? I got straight off after the final hooter not to disrespect Leeds but to get home before midnight.

Win, lose or draw I had every intention of staying to applaud the presentations and applaud both sets of players off the pitch. However, the aforementioned Leeds fans (mentioned on other threads) who after the final hooter spent as much time with their backs to the pitch as facing it put me off. I waited and applauded our lads when they came down to our end, then I could take no more.
